Carnival Games Coming to the Nintendo DS

Yeah Baby! There's a carnival happening in my pants!

2K Play's ultra-popular mini-game compilation is coming to the Nintendo DS. Originally released on the Nintendo Wii, Carnival Games features a set of games you expect to find in, well, a carnival (Chuck E. Cheese, too).

With popular mini-games such as Alley Ball and Dunk Tank, Carnival Games managed to ship more than one million copies on the Nintendo Wii. Quite an accomplishment by 2K Play considering that it was basically a no name third-party game when it came out.

"We work hand-in-hand with Nintendo on the design of our Carnival Games titles to make sure they deliver the best-possible gaming experience for their consoles," said Harley Howe and Patrick Wilkinson, studio heads of 2K Play's Cat Daddy Games. "These new titles in our growing Carnival Games franchise are fun, feature true-to-life physics, and deliver on the promise of the original. You can almost smell the candy floss."

Carnival Games will be reworked to accommodate for the Nintendo DS. The motion controls have been replaced by touch screen and microphone inputs. Two new mini-games will also be added: RC Raceway and Clown Hammer. I doubt Carnival Games can sell without the immersive motion controls; however, it did managed to sell unexpectedly well on the Wii.

Carnival Games is expected to ship on the Nintendo DS during the summer. A Wii only follow-up, Carnival Games: Mini-Golf will be released at the end of the year.
