The release of Intel's Centrino 2 technology has led Sony to announce its new lines of laptops based on the mobile technology.
Digital Arts reported that the new models included 16.4in and 15.4in models as well as a 13.3in notebook with a high-resolution display.
The Centrino 2 processor has been developed with 802.11n wireless networking and support for separate graphics chips which Sony described as blending "supreme power with uncompromising elegance" when used in its new Vaio series of products.
High-end models will be fitted with the Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 processor running at 2.53GHz as well as ATI's Mobility Radeon HD3650 graphics chip as well as Dolby Sound Room technology and the option to have a Blu-ray drive.
Intel announced the newest addition to its mobile processing line on Tuesday which was previously under the codename of Montevina and will be utilised by many laptop makers including Acer and Asus.
