Vehicle-mount computer runs Windows XPe

Aug. 21, 2007

AML has announced a sealed metal computer that is intended for mounting in industrial vehicles and runs Windows XP Embedded (XPe). The MT7550 clocks its AMD Geode GX533 processor at 400 MHz and includes both Bluetooth and 802.11b/g wireless capabilities.

The company says the MT7550 is intended for mounting on vehicles such as forklifts, and is useful for for real-time receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping applications in harsh environments. To that end, it includes a 12.1-inch SVGA touchscreen with the limited resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, which according to the company makes the device accessible by gloved operators.
