Sony Blog Issues More MotorStorm 2 Info

Yesterday, the very first MotorStorm 2 trailer dropped, and now, the official PlayStation blog has revealed more information on the upcoming sequel.

We'll start you off with the most important aspect of the new details, which is where they mentioned an estimated release window:

"You may have wondered what that counter was ticking down to on top of Threespeech, or read bits of information on sites like on Eurogamer, or recently dropped by IGN for the video reveal - but here’s the news in its entirety: MotorStorm 2 is coming this fall."

As expected, the sequel will move away from the desert environment, and players will find themselves racing through a wide variety of locales, from a "lush Pacific island" to "thick swamps, dense jungle, towering peaks and steaming volcanoes." Furthermore, our selection of vehicles will expand to include cars, motorcycles, race trucks, buggies, "mudpluggers," Big Rigs, and the previously rumored Monster Truck class (now on display in that new video trailer). In terms of additional features, Sony has revealed the following- "16 new multi-route tracks, 16 players can race head-to-head online, and a hugely requested feature hits MotorStorm: 4-player split-screen mode."

Well damn, that sounds good to us! The fact that it should be arriving in 2008 is another major plus, because MotorStorm 2 has the potential to be a "AAA" title for this holiday season. We'll continue to keep you updated on any new developments concerning this big-name sequel.
