Nintendo Wii Fit : Gaming with exercise

EVER THOUGHT of playing videogames without using your hands but moving
your whole body- I mean playing a video game along with physical
exercise. Yeah it’s quite possible and guess what? It’s once again
Nintendo that has brought this innovative feature with Nintendo Wii Fit. Wii Fit is a video game developed by Nintendo specially for the Nintendo Wii
console. And what’s more Wii Fit and the Wii Balance Board will surely
help you turn your living room into a fitness centre and that too for
the whole family!

The Wii Balance Board resembles
similar to your run-of-the-mill scales found in the bathrooms of many
homes. It’s a simple, white rectangle that gauges the force being
applied to it. It knows when you shift your weight on it because of
this pressure sensitivity and does so with pinpoint accuracy. The
software can then calculate the user’s body mass index when told of his
or her height.

Wii Fit includes roughly more
than 40 types of training activities designed to appeal and make all
the members of a household active. Training falls into four fitness
categories:

Aerobic exercise: 10-minute exercises that are designed to get the heart pumping.

  • Muscle conditioning: Controlled motions using arms, legs and other body parts.

  • Yoga
poses: Classic poses that focus on balance and stretching as also deep
breathing, half-moon, warrior, tree, sun salutation and many more.

  • Balance games: Fun activities, such as ski jumping and heading footballs, that challenge the player’s overall body balance.

    Also
the Wii Fit Age is measured by factoring the user’s BMI reading,
testing the user’s centre of gravity and conducting quick balance
tests. Such is a power of innovation of this behemoth!
