Afternoon Rush features use of Nintendo, Wii and PlayStation 2


Available at the Olathe Public Library


Afternoon Rush: Join other teens in seventh through 12th grades, 4 – 6 p.m., Dec. 16 at the Olathe Public Library, 201 E. Park, to play the library’s Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2 or use a computer with Internet access to play Runescape or check MySpace account. No registration.


Christmas on the American Prairie: This special program of readings from diaries and memoirs of pioneers is for all ages at 7 p.m., Dec. 16 at the Indian Creek Branch Library, 12990 S. Black Bob Road. The readers will be present in the “real” world, while their “avatars” perform in the virtual world of Second Life. Second Life is a virtual world and exists as a Web-based, 3-D, immersive environment. Refreshments will be served. No registration.


Olathe YA Anime Club: Teens in 7th – 12th grades can gather to discuss manga and anime from 4 – 7 p.m., Dec. 18 at the Indian Creek Branch Library, 12990 S. Black Bob Road. No registration.
