Nintendo platforms boss Japanese sales

Nintendo platforms ruled the roost in Japan during the week ended December 7, with DSi light years ahead of the competition.

Nintendo's latest handheld sold over 125,000 units, more than doubling the sales of its big brother, Wii, which came in second place ahead of PSP.

PS3 was some way behind Sony's handheld but took fourth place comfortably, while DS Lite outsold 360 by a few thousand units, and PS2 brought up the rear.

DSi - 126,648
PSP - 54,782
Wii - 56,702
PS3 - 30,309
DS Lite - 12,096
360 - 9,988
PS2 - 5,743
