Nintendo does deal with EB for interactive lounge in Melbourne CBD

Nintendo Australia has done a deal which will see the company's products occupy an exclusive interactive lounge area on the upper floor of EB Games' new Swanston street store in the Melbourne CBD.

Renovations are underway and the space is due to be complete for opening in mid-December, an EB Games representative told Aussie-Nintendo today.

When asked whether there's any known relation to the Nintendo World Store in the United States, the representative said that they're aware that Nintendo is "looking to go bigger" and that they'll probably "personalise tailor it (the concept) to suit the Australian market now."

This development is "not in the structure of a franchise or anything...it's just an agreement between EB Games and Nintendo," the representative said.

Sony will also occupy a similar space on the mezzanine area of the building. More photos of the location can be found here.
