Nintendo Wii Fit : Gaming with exercise

EVER THOUGHT of playing videogames without using your hands but moving
your whole body- I mean playing a video game along with physical
exercise. Yeah it’s quite possible and guess what? It’s once again
Nintendo that has brought this innovative feature with Nintendo Wii Fit. Wii Fit is a video game developed by Nintendo specially for the Nintendo Wii
console. And what’s more Wii Fit and the Wii Balance Board will surely
help you turn your living room into a fitness centre and that too for
the whole family!

The Wii Balance Board resembles
similar to your run-of-the-mill scales found in the bathrooms of many
homes. It’s a simple, white rectangle that gauges the force being
applied to it. It knows when you shift your weight on it because of
this pressure sensitivity and does so with pinpoint accuracy. The
software can then calculate the user’s body mass index when told of his
or her height.

Wii Fit includes roughly more
than 40 types of training activities designed to appeal and make all
the members of a household active. Training falls into four fitness
categories:

Aerobic exercise: 10-minute exercises that are designed to get the heart pumping.

  • Muscle conditioning: Controlled motions using arms, legs and other body parts.

  • Yoga
poses: Classic poses that focus on balance and stretching as also deep
breathing, half-moon, warrior, tree, sun salutation and many more.

  • Balance games: Fun activities, such as ski jumping and heading footballs, that challenge the player’s overall body balance.

    Also
the Wii Fit Age is measured by factoring the user’s BMI reading,
testing the user’s centre of gravity and conducting quick balance
tests. Such is a power of innovation of this behemoth!

Blu-ray to outsell DVD by 2011, says Sony Pictures

Citing the latest market reports available, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Asia Pacific vice president Tim Meade has confided that the company believes sales of Blu-ray Discs will beat out that of standard definition DVDs by the year 2011.

According to the market reports, global sales of BD movies will rise from 9 percent at the end of 2007 to about 25 percent of all market share by the end of this year, and that the number was already at about 20 percent as of July.

In addition, the global sales of BD players (I'm not sure if PS3s are included in Meade's figures) in proportion to all video players, will rise to 15 percent from 7 percent year-on-year. Meade also noted that for the first half of 2008, sales volume of BD players increased 400 percent in the US and an astonishing 600 percent in Europe.

As a ratio, Meade says DVDs will hold a 75:25 percent lead over their HD counterparts by the end of 2008 and a 60:40 lead by the end of 2010 before losing out in 2011 by a margin that could be as small as 48:52.

Louis Vuitton Logo Lawsuit In the Bag

The popular LV logo that is Louis Vuitton's legacy is synonymous
with luxury and indulgence--which means that it is often co-opted, and
often by musicians. Lil Kim once did a photo shoot with LV's painted in
brown and tan all over her face and body. Rappers, in particular, have
always gravitated to the luxury brand. Kanye West has referred to
himself as "the Louis Vuitton Don." Jessica Simpson carries Louis
    Vuitton bags ubiquitously.

But Louis Vuitton was not flattered recently when Britney Spears used
the logo without permission. She appeared in a music video in a car
covered with LV's. Ruben Studdard also used an LV without permission on
a CD jacket. As a result of this, Louis Vuitton decided to go after
their record label, SONY BMG, for allowing its artists to use their
    logo unapproved, according to Crain's.

SONY BMG and Louis Vuitton reached an agreement that is meant to be
somewhere about $300,000--and it sends a message to labels, artists,
and anyone in the public who likes luxe logos: expensive labels come at
    a price.
